Questions We Are Asked

For the Professionals Who Rely on Our Work

For Surety Professionals

Timeliness is part of the service.

We know a late financial statement can delay a bond renewal, an increase in bonding capacity or approval for a particular opportunity. That’s why preparation begins before year-end whenever possible.

Our objective is simple: provide accurate, credible financial information when our clients and their surety professionals need it.

Yes.

We have spent decades preparing contractor financial statements used by the surety community. We understand the importance of working capital, equity, backlog, profitability, WIP reporting, cash flow, debt and the quality and presentation of the financial information being provided.

Our statements are prepared knowing who will be reading them and why.

Absolutely.

Good communication between the contractor, CPA, surety broker and underwriter can be extremely important.

When questions arise regarding our financial statements or additional information is needed, we make ourselves available. Our goal is to help the parties understand the financial picture, not create another obstacle in the process.

We can help everyone understand the financial picture and determine what may be possible.

Sometimes that means providing interim financial information, discussing work-in-progress, explaining a significant transaction or helping the contractor understand what needs to improve financially.

We cannot make the underwriting decision, but we can make sure the contractor’s financial information is timely, accurate and clearly presented.

We address it.

Problems rarely improve because nobody talks about them.

If we see declining margins, working-capital pressure, unusual distributions, tax exposure, cash-flow concerns or another issue that deserves attention, we want to discuss it with the client early.

The objective is not simply to report problems after year-end. It is to give the client an opportunity to respond while something can still be done.

Because we understand that your reputation is part of the referral.

When a surety professional introduces us to a contractor, we recognize the trust involved. Our responsibility is to take care of that client, communicate, meet deadlines and provide financial reporting that supports the relationship.

We want our referral partners to have one less thing to worry about.

For Commercial Lenders

Yes.

Construction companies present financial issues that are different from many other businesses. We understand WIP schedules, backlog, retainage, working-capital requirements, equipment financing and the cash-flow demands created by construction projects.

Our objective is to provide financial information that allows lenders to understand the business clearly.

Yes.

Credit-line renewals occur throughout the year, and we work with clients to provide the financial statements and supporting information their lenders require.

Whenever possible, we want to anticipate those requirements rather than respond to them at the last minute.

What Our Clients and Partners Say

In Their Words

As our construction company has grown, Incorvaia has helped us develop stronger financial systems and a clearer understanding of our performance. Their team knows which numbers matter—from job profitability and backlog to cash flow and bonding capacity—and gives us practical advice we can use.

Atinderpal Singh · President, Bhaghiana General Construction Inc.

Incorvaia understands what surety professionals need from a contractor’s CPA. Their financial statements are timely, accurate, and presented with a clear understanding of work-in-progress reporting, backlog, cash flow, and bonding capacity. Their knowledge of bonded construction makes them a valuable resource for both contractors and their surety partners.

John Crowley · Vice-President, EPIC Insurance

As a bonding agent, when someone asks for a CPA referral, Anthony Incorvaia is always the first CPA to come to mind. He understands surety and the importance of providing a financial statement that will meet underwriting requirements. His response time is exceptional, including during tax season. Our clients are very happy with him, as are we!

For over 25 years Anthony has been my trusted accountant from the start of my company in 1998 to the present. Highly recommend him.
